1 Review on “O.BBa Jjajang & BBQ”
Reviews for this eatery were a little mixed (well it’s actually natural that individuals’ taste buds differ) but mostly good.
Service and food quality is good and affordable with attentive staff, but someone had experienced staff that was a little pushy and insisted a little too much that they should order more food.
It seems like portions are generous, with the set A (meant for 2) being big enough to feed 3 or even 4 pax.
Diners are only given 1 hour to eat due to long queues; expect to be hurried out when you go beyond the time limit.
Half of the reviews we researched commented that the prices were affordable with the quality of food served while the other half felt that prices were above average, especially the chicken.
If you love your banchan, this might not be the place for you as the variety tended to the low side and flavor was lacking, while the kimchi is too sour and salty. (I actually prefer my kimchi to taste strong, as mentioned, individual preferences do differ!)
Free ice cream and water are given, but you might be asked to eat your ice cream outside if stay beyond the time limit.
Recommended items include:
Seafood pancake, kimchi pancake – good and crispy
Grilled meat- very fresh and of good quality
Jjampong (Spicy Seafood Noodle Soup) – flavorful soup and generous amount of seafood
Fried dumpling
Tofu stew – well seasoned and plenty of seafood within
Seafood cheese pancake (highly recommended) – thick layer of cheese and big chunks of squid
Mixed reviews: Jjajangmyeon (black bean noodle) – one diner quoted this as the best among all the jjm he had tried at other Korean restaurants; it was thick, filling, had a strong taste. Another diner was disappointed that it was more sweet than savoury.
Items to avoid:
Original rice cake – very sweet; sugar sweet and not from vegetables kind of sweetness
Fried chicken with spicy pepper – taste was not intense nor spicy
Tangsuyuk (Sweet and sour pork) – 80% flour and 20% meat
This eatery does not take reservation. Expect long queues during peak hours. One ordered in-store for take away on Sat 5.10pm and only got to receive the food at 6pm.
